The World No 12 said he's always been interested in fashion and it was an exciting opportunity to work with the creative team at GQ, a chance he relished, reports Xinhua.
"For me, it's something positive. I'm really happy to do that and be on the other side as a man," said the 29-year-old yesterday.
The photo shoot was done in Paris in October.
"Sometimes, I'm able to buy magazines like the GQ. I like to dress fashionably, it's great. He compiled a 36-19 match record in 2014, highlighted by winning his second Association of Tennis Professionals (ATP) World Tour Masters 1000 title in Toronto, beating Novak Djokovic, Andy Murray, Grigor Dimitrov and Roger Federer in succession.
Tsonga lost to Australian Open champion Stanislas Wawrinka in the Davis Cup final in Lille. His country France lost 1-3 in the final against Switzerland.
