Khelo India University Games: Mumbai University badminton team clinch a silver medal

In the ongoing Khelo India University Games 2025, Mumbai University's (MU's) badminton team emerged as the runner-up at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur, Rajasthan. The side showcased their grit and dominance at the national level by maintaining a fighting spirit until the title clash.

In the quarter-final match of the marquee event, MU's badminton team registered a dominating victory against Andhra Pradesh's SRM Vidyapapitha. Later in the semi-final, the side showcased immense efforts and defeated Kerala's MG University to advance to the final.


However, the side suffered a loss in the title clash against Punjab's Chitkara University and settled for the silver medal. The Mumbai team, led by Abhyudaya Chaudhary, Zakuo Seyi, Atharva Joshi, Krish Desai, Ian Lopez, Saransh Gajbiye, and Siddharth Das, showcased excellent teamwork throughout the tournament.



The team was trained by manager-cum-coach Sushant Divekar and University contingency manager Dr Sagar Arjun Todkar.

Following the team's success in the Khelo India University Games 2025, Mumbai University Vice-Chancellor Professor Ravindra Kulkarni felicitated the players.

Principal Dr Ajay Bhamre, Registrar Dr Prasad Karde, Director of Sports and Physical Education Dr Manoj Reddy, also congratulated all the winners and the participating players and wished them well for their future endeavours.
