Arunachal Pradesh's Yajum Laa staged a spirited comeback against Riya Arolkar of Maharashtra to enter the second round of the girl's U-17 event at the 3rd Gautam Thakkar Memorial All India Junior Badminton Tournament at Bombay Gymkhana yesterday.

Laa won 18-21, 25-23, 21-18 after a gruelling 59-minute match. In the opening game, Arolkar dominated the proceedings and was leading 12-9 at one stage. However, Laa caught up with her at 18-18 before losing 18-21.
