The mid-day Trophy will be run at the Pune racetrack on Saturday to celebrate the contribution of your favourite publication to the sport of horse racing. At first glance, with the kind of track trials Legadema, the Pesi Shroff-trained three-year-old filly, has registered, it looks like whosoever is planning to win the mid-day Trophy will have to beat her. 

Her main rivals appear to be Avante, the last-outing winner, and Fire Away, who put in a decent debut run behind Mahogany after a sluggish start. The dark horse is the older Bright Button who seems to have put on condition through recent work on the trial track.
