Lewis Hamilton has promised to bring his championship-winning form to the first race of the new season after admitting too much partying contributed to his end-of-year wobble. The Briton, 32, vowed to end the season in style after a series of good performances, in the second half of the campaign, paved the way for his fourth championship with two rounds to spare.

Hamilton said: "Some things happen when you win the championship, and in the week after I won the title in Mexico, I partied a lot. I still drove relatively well, but I would not say I was 100 per cent. My sleep and energy has been different at these last couple of races. Next year, it&rsquo;ll go back to how it was in the second half of the season."
