Sutirtha Mukherjee got the women off to a flying start, beating Aleena Khan 11-3, 11-3, 11-4 in just 10 minutes. Then, rising 17-year-old Syndrela Das beat Kalsoom Khan 11-6, 11-7, 11-5. Sreeja Akula sealed the tie, breezing past Fatima Khan 11-4, 11-4, 11-5 in 11 minutes.
For the men, Harmeet Desai beat Pakistan&rsquo;s Muhammad Khan 11-4, 11-3, 11-5 in the opener, while the captain G Sathiyan registered a 11-1, 11-8, 11-9 win over Abbas Khan. Then, Payas Jain blanked the other Muhammad Khan 11-2, 11-5, 11-7.
