Arya Vidya Mandir (Bandra) overcame a spirited Yashodham High School (Kandivli) to win the boys U-16 title in the Dream Sports Mumbai School Sports Association (MSSA) inter-school handball tournament at Azad Maidan on Thursday.
The AVM boys won 22-11 in extra time, after both sides were locked at 16-16 at the end of regulation time.
AVM’s Priyansh Parikh put in a stellar performance, netting nine goals to help his team clinch the title. He received solid support from Aarav Ahuja (five goals) and Gautam Shetty (three goals).
For Yashodham, skipper Pratham Shetye also scored nine goals while Viraj Mhatre, Vedant Yadav, and Lekh Karambelkar, struck three each.
