For the first time in the history of inter-school sports, an Olympic-style event for schools from Mumbai, Thane and Raigad districts will kick off at the DY Patil Stadium, Nerul from December 24 to 31.
Sports For All (SFA) has taken the initiative to organise the mega event. The registration fees for the event is R5000. India cricketer Rohit Sharma, who is brand ambassador for the event, has agreed to sponsor schools that cannot afford the registration fees.
SFA has planned to video record all the disciplines for future reference to identify talent and nurture them.
SFA will provide nutritious food, physiotherapy treatment and will also organise training sessions for schools to build confidence among the kids.
