Shuttler Parupalli Kashyap made a fine Olympic debut on Saturday defeating Yuhan Tan of Belgium in a first round men's singles match.

Kashyap beat Tan 21-14, 21-12 victory in just 38 minutes and was obviously happy with his effort at the Wembley Arena. “I’ve played Tan twice this year, therefore I was ready for his game,” said Kashyap, who next meets Vietnam’s Tien Minh Nguyen.u00a0
