Johannesburg: Pope Francis has prayed for the recovery of Formula one legend Michael Schumacher.
Schumacher, who has record seven Formula One titles and 91 race wins, was injured while skiing during a French Alps vacation in 2013 and has been going through his painfully slow recovery at his Swiss lakeside home.

The prayer came in the wake of invitation by Jean Todt, the president of the Formula One's governing body FIA, who showed Francis a three-minute video in a 'Save Kids' Lives' campaign led by Schumacher.
The German-led road safety campaign aimed at reducing the number of children killed in car accident.
Todt, who is a close friend of Schumacher, believes that the video had made a big impression on Francis, Sport24 reported.
Reflecting on the Schumacher's present state, Todt revealed that the German was still fighting for recovery.
