Kolkata: West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee today congratulated Indian gymnast Dipa Karmakar for qualifying to the women's individual vault final at Rio Olympics.

"Congratulations to #DipaKarmakar for her good performance at #Rio2016 Best of luck for final. You make us proud," Banerjee tweeted. Karmakar scripted history as she became the first Indian to make the cut for the individual vault finals in her debut Olympic Games after finishing eighth in the qualifying round here.
