Rory McIlroy struck his father Gerry with a wayward shot in Thursday’s opening round of the Masters on the way to his worst start at Augusta National, a four-over par 76.

McIlroy, 31, a four-time major winner, can complete a career Grand Slam with a Masters triumph, but he has been working on his swing and struggling to find consistency.
