Toronto: Top-ranked women’s tennis doubles pair of Sania Mirza and Martina Hingis cruised to the semi-finals of the Rogers Cup with a 6-4, 6-2 win over the Chan sisters, Hao-Ching and Yung-Jan. Hao-Ching and Yung-Jan got off to a great start on Friday, winning the first three games. But Hingis and Mirza reeled off 10 of the next 11 games to build a 6-4, 4-0 lead.

The teams then held its serves until the No 1-seeded Swiss-Indian pairing had the straight set victory. “We’ve become really solid over the last three months,” Hingis said.
