Russian tennis beauty Maria Sharapova and US tennis star Serena Williams are not just rivals on-court, but off it too. And even Christmas couldn't stop the two from taking a dig at each other.

Recently, when Sharapova was asked whether she would play competitive tennis until the age of 36, as Williams has, Sharapova replied: "Now I cannot imagine that. But you should never say never. I want to get to 2020 and be at the Olympic Games in Tokyo. But if it does not happen, it will not be a disappointment either."

Williams has hit back in style as she tweeted on Christmas Day and wrote: "I had to Wikipedia my age the other day. I forgot how old I was." Replying to Serena's tweet, an online user said, "Basically Maria said she wasn't gonna play until she was as old as Serena. The headline was a bit more saucy, so I imagine that's why Serena said this. A little holiday clapback to remind Maria who is Queen!" Another user wrote, "You're not too old to kick Maria Sharapova's butt! Can't wait until you get a chance to do it again!"
