Ace marksman Ronjan Sondhi has vented his frustration over the lack of interest among corporate houses towards Olympic sports, and that shooting has not got its due recognition despite winning several medals in the previous two Olympic games.

"We can never emulate China because the system is very different and we cannot be like them. But we can become like US as their system is very similar to us," Sodhi told PTI yesterday.

"The only difference is that they are getting a lot of corporate support," he said, urging corporate houses to help the country become a superpower in Olympic sports.

However, the world No 2 in double trap event praised the government's efforts.

"We have got enough government support. Olympic sports, without its support, cannot survive.u00a0

"But despite winning so many medals in international events, the Commonwealth Games and the Asian games, shooting has not got its due," he lamented.
