Gautamu00a0Sathe, a sports journalist with United News of India (UNI) passed away on Thursday night following a massive heart attack.

Sathe covered several first-class cricket matches and reported on India's 2005 tour of Sri Lanka. He always kept a low profile and was efficient without being over-ambitious.

According to PTI, Sathe, an epileptic, was found lying on the floor by his wife when she returned home. He was declared dead when he was rushed to a hospital.

Sathe (42) is survived by his wife, mother, brother and sister. The funeral will take place when his mother and brother arrive from America.u00a0u00a0 He narrowly escaped death from a stray bullet near Metro cinema during the 26/11 terror attack on Mumbai in 2008.
