World No 9 Stan Wawrinka has voiced his frustration after an article criticising his private life was posted on the official Roland Garros website. The piece, which has subsequently been taken down, appeared on Saturday night and made a number of allegations about Wawrinka's marriage and personal relationships. Wawrinka eased into the French Open second round yesterday with a 6-3, 6-2, 6-3 over Turkey's Marsel Ilhan, but the Swiss expressed his disapproval of the article after the match. "It was a completely stupid article," Wawrinka said. "It's the official website of a Grand Slam, so I hope the guy who did that article is not a journalist. I also hope the guy who is supposed to check all the articles on the website is not working any more for the tournament. Because for me, for a Grand Slam website, it should be an article about the tennis."
