Not since the time he used to edit Sportsweek and Lifestyle magazine (in 1988), Indian cricket legend Sunil Gavaskar has sat down to interview other sportspersons. In the build-up to Rio 2016, Gavaskar is interviewing Indian Olympians and recently did a television show with tennis queen Sania Mirza.

"This is a rare moment for me as this is the first time I have been interviewed by a non journalist," said Sania. Gavaskar lauded the tennis star and said, "she was very confident." It is learnt that Gavaskar will also interview Leander Paes and Vijender Singh.
"It's not a new experience for me because I did a similar program called Sunil Gavaskar Presents (in the late 1980s)." After interviewing Paes in Chandigarh, Gavaskar will head to the West Indies via London to commentate on the India vs West Indies series.
