Teenage badminton sensation Tanvi Sharma won her first BWF World Tour crown on Sunday, defeating sixth seed Thuy Linh Nguyen of Vietnam in straight games to win the Taipei Open Super 300 title.

The 17-year-old from Punjab wrapped up a commanding 21-16, 21-16 victory in just 36 minutes over the world No. 21. With this win, Tanvi became the youngest champion in Taipei Open history at 17 years and 222 days, surpassing Tai Tzu Ying's record. She is also the first Indian woman to claim the title since Saina Nehwal in 2008.
