<a href="https://www.mid-day.com/sports/other-sports/article/tiger-woods-celebrates-50th-birthday-with-lavish-charity-gala-in-california-23612391" rel="nofollow">Golf legend Tiger Woods</a> plans to change his 'not guilty' plea in a Driving Under the Influence (DUI) case after a rollover crash in Florida, according to court documents filed Tuesday, reported CBS News.
Back in March this year, Woods' Land Rover clipped into a truck, rolled onto its side, resulting in the golfer being arrested. Woods pleaded not guilty to driving under the influence in the case in Martin County circuit court.
The former World No. 1 is scheduled to attend a hearing in court on Wednesday morning, based on a hearing notice posted Tuesday. Specifics regarding the exact nature of his altered plea were not disclosed in the filing.
According to law enforcement arrest documents, Woods was driving at high speed down a residential road on Jupiter Island, inflicting roughly USD 5,000 in damages to the truck. He emerged unharmed from the rollover and informed the responding officer that he was distracted by his phone and adjusting the radio when the collision occurred.

Attending deputies reported that Woods displayed signs of impairment during questioning and conducted field sobriety tests. While a Breathalyser test showed zero alcohol content in his system, officials noted that Woods declined to provide a urine sample.
The golf icon told the police that he had taken 'a few' prescription medications, as per the arrest report, with two pills, identified later as hydrocodone, found in his pants pocket. Deputies also recorded that Woods was sweating heavily with bloodshot eyes and dilated pupils.

This followed a May court order allowing access to his pharmacy records in Palm Beach covering the early months of the year.
The 50-year-old sports icon, boasting 15 Grand Slam-equivalent major victories, including five Masters titles, four PGA Championships, three US Opens, and three Open Championships, has repeatedly battled severe injuries, surgeries, and personal setbacks throughout his career. Woods made his first public outing post-rehabilitation in June to present the PGA Tour's 2028 schedule proposals, maintaining his position as chairman of the tour's Future Competition Committee.
