Trainer Cooji Katrak once again showed what an insatiable appetite he has for success. After winning back-to-back championship titles both at Mumbai and Pune last year, one would have expected him to take things easy, at least on the opening day of a fresh campaign. But the astute trainer apparently does not believe in taking a day off. He saddled runners in four of the nine races of the opening day's card, and ended up winning three of them, including Sir Rahimtoola Chinoy Trophy.

Cooji Katrak began his assault on the card in the second race. He saddled two-year-old Star Of Roses (James Doyle up), the property of Rakesh Kumar Wadhwan and Prem Tharani, to win a race that was named after Rosmini, a brilliant sprinter of nearly a decade ago trained by none other than Katrak himself. He later led in two more winners Sea Ruler (M Fenton up) and Flaming Arrow, on whom Irishman NG McCullagh donned Haresh Mehta's silks.

The supporting event, RWITC.com trophy was won by the Shyam Ruia-owned Sine Qua Non.
