Two-time Olympic medallist PV Sindhu faces a daunting opening-round fixture against World No. 1 and defending champion An Se-Young as she sets out to lead the Indian challenge at the Denmark Open beginning here on Tuesday.
Sindhu, a former world champion, arrives in Denmark with mixed recent results. She won the Japan Open in July, but suffered a quarter-final exit at the Asian Games against China’s Chen Yu Fei. At last week’s Arctic Open, she went down fighting against Thailand’s Ratchanok Intanon in the last-eight stage.
