Veteran footballer Vinod Philip, aged 63 years, died after he collapsed on the football field while playing in a veterans' tournament in Ambernath on Saturday.

Philip was representing Evergreen SC in a match against WIMCO Boys when he suffered a cardiac arrest, which resulted in his death. Philip is survived by his wife and son, and was a resident of Vasai. He was cremated on Sunday.
