India's Vijender Singh continued his dominance in the professional boxing circuit with another impressive knock-out victory at the Manchester Arena on Saturday.

Vijender, competing in only his third professional fight and first six-rounder, finished off Bulgarian Samet Hyuseinov 35 seconds into the second round, with the referee stopping the contest as Vijender got going with a flurry of combination punches leaving his opponent on the ropes.

With 17 professional fights and seven wins under his belt, Hyuseinov was far more experienced. But it was the Beijing Olympics bronze medal-winning Bhiwani boxer who began well, landing a couple of good, clean jabs first up. Deep into the three-minute round, Vijender landed two solid right hands across Hyuseinov's face and seemed set to finish it off, but the bell came to the Bulgarian's rescue.

In Round Two however, Vijender seemed more determined to close off the fight. He pushed Hyuseinov into the far corner and set himself up nicely to go for the kill. A couple of left-right combinations followed and just as Hyuseinov seemed helpless under the barrage of punches, the referee came in between the fighters indicating the end of the fight and victory for the Indian.

Vijender credited the win to his attacking approach right from the start. "I am happy with another knockout win and my 3-0 record. My attacking strategy from the first minute of the first round helped me win today. I had done a lot of physical hardwork and even improved my technique for this fight. I was confident of winning," he said moments after the win.

Vijender previously knocked out Sonny Whiting in three rounds in October and followed it up with a victory inside Round One against Dean Gillen last month.

So what next for the star boxer? "A fight in India maybe, I don't know, but there are lots of boxers in India and it will be nice to do something there. Frank (Warren, promoter) has promised me a surprise if I win this fight, so let's see what he has in store for me," Vijender signed off.
