Wings For Life Run raises Rs 781 crore for spinal cord research

Japan’s Jo Fukuda won the global competition while in India, Kolkata’s Samrat Putatunda (33.11km) won the men’s event and Mumbai’s Urmila Bane (18.04km) won the women’s title.

Specially abled athletes participate in the Wings For Life Run at the KJ Somaiya Campus in Vidyavihar on Sunday

Thousands of runners both in India and abroad, physically and virtually, participated in the Wings For Life World Run organised by Red Bull on Sunday. 

In Mumbai, at the Gargi KJ Somaiya Campus in Vidyavihar, the event witnessed participation from runners across various age groups, including specially-abled participants. Globally there were 346,527 participants from 192 nations with the initiative raising €69.7 mn (approx Rs 781 cr) for treatment and research of spinal cord injuries.
