Despite opponent's injury, bronze-winner Saina Nehwal says she was confident of beating World No 2 Xin Wang
Shuttler Saina Nehwal gave India its maiden Olympic medal in badminton after China’s Xin Wang retired hurt from the bronze medal play-off despite winning the first game at the Wembley Arena here on Saturday.
Wang took the first game 21-18 and was leading 1-0 in the second when she decided that she could not carry on with the right knee injury that she picked up after a heavy landing at the end of the first game.u00a0However, World No 5 Saina, who became the third Indian to win a medal from the 2012 London Games, said she was confident of beating the Chinese.
