WWE SmackDown saw an epic show with the John Cena and AJ Styles face-off for the Royal Rumble 2017 contract signing and Dean Ambrose defeating The Miz to be the new Intercontinental champion.
Dean Ambrose faced off against Miz with distraction from Maryse who was at ringside. She once slapped Ambrose like earlier but the refereee was convinced by Dean Ambrose to send her backstage. The Miz hit the belt on Ambrose but the latter managed to kick out. Ambrose then hit 'Dirty Deeds' on The Miz to win the IC title.
WWE SmackDown Live earlier kicked off with the Intercontinental champion The Miz demanding that Renee Young apologise to him.
