Apple has officially drawn the curtain on its highly anticipated iPhone 17 series. Putting an end to all the rumours and speculations, Apple’s Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Tim Cook, announced that the 17th generation iPhone series will feature iPhone 17, iPhone 17 Air, iPhone 17 Pro and iPhone 17 Pro Max.
Concluding one of Apple’s most highly anticipated events, ‘Awe Dropping’, at the Steve Jobs Theatre in Cupertino, California, Cook asserted that the latest generation iPhone 17 series will be available for pre-booking from Friday, September 12.
The main highlight of the event was the launch of iPhone 17 Air. Apple on September 9, 2025 debuted the all-new iPhone Air, the thinnest iPhone ever made, with pro performance. The Air model of the iPhone features a breakthrough titanium design that is elegant and light yet strong, with an innovative internal architecture that enables the latest iPhone experiences.
Apart from lifting off curtains from Apple’s latest flagship smartphone series, Apple also unveiled the Apple Watch Series 11, Watch Ultra 3 and Apple AirPods Pro 3.

The newly launched iPhone 17 series now features the new center stage front camera that takes selfies to the next level; with a powerful 48MP Fusion Main camera with an optical-quality 2x Telephoto; and a new 48MP Fusion Ultra Wide camera that captures expansive scenes and macro photography in more detail. Apple also unveiled that the iPhone 17 will now be available starting with 256GB of storage.
Built on third-generation 3-nanometer technology, the iPhone 17 series has been integrated with the A19 chip that delivers powerful performance, efficiency, and a huge boost in speed. With an updated display engine, ISP, and Apple Neural Engine power features like Apple Intelligence and the latest-generation Photographic Styles, this has to be one of the best iPhones ever made.
As far as the lens go, the iPhone 17 Pro Max version has a next-generation tetraprism design with a sensor that is 56 percent larger than the previous generation to improve sharpness in bright light and bring more detail to darker shots.

While some reports suggested that Apple might roll out its latest-gen smartphone without a significant price hike, news agency AP reported that the tech giant is likely to introduce the iPhone 17 series with a significant price hike amid the global turmoil and ‘Trump Tariffs’.
