Why not focus on improving lines of communication and getting to know this person a little better first?

It feels as if I am going to lose my girlfriend and there’s nothing I can do. I have tried my best to make this relationship work, but it’s very one-sided. She is happy if I take the initiative but the minute I stop, she will not even bother to plan a date. It’s as if she is with me only because I do all the things required to make this relationship feel real. I don’t even know if she genuinely loves me because it sometimes feels like a farce. Should I accept that there is no future with her? I love her a lot and wish I could change this in some positive way, but I don’t know how.
No relationship can work if it isn’t a real partnership because the signs tell you that you want different things. There is a mismatch of expectations and an inability or refusal to acknowledge that something isn’t working. Unless your girlfriend hears you out and commits to doing more, there’s little you can do to change this. If you want to save this relationship, brutal honesty is your only hope. If she doesn’t do anything about what you say, you should also accept that there is no future here.
A few weeks ago, I was on a holiday and ran into a guy who connected with me instantly. We spent a lot of time together and promised to stay in touch after returning to our respective cities. Since then, we have chatted just once, and I am afraid because it feels as if I am going to lose this connection. I have never felt this way about someone before and think this is a special person I need in my life. Should I move to another city to see if we have a chance at getting into a relationship?
Uprooting your life for someone you don’t know sounds romantic, but unrealistic. Why not focus on improving lines of communication and getting to know this person a little better first?
