If something is on your mind, speak out because that’s always the best approach.

I often feel as if my girlfriend talks to me only when there’s no one else to talk to. We have been dating for three months, and, in all this time, I have never felt any connection with her that is deep. We go out to dinner, watch movies and chat whenever she wants to talk about something, but there’s never a feeling of being wanted for who I am. It’s as if she is dating only because everyone else in her circle is also in a relationship. This isn’t what I want from someone because I have every intention of building a bond that is real and strong. If she can’t give me this support, should I tell her this isn’t working, or wait in the hope that her attitude towards me will change?
Nothing changes without an intervention, and your hope that passive waiting will magically lead to something different only delays the inevitable. Relationships evolve when there are real conversations about why you chose to be with each other and how you feel when she calls. If you get the sense that you are just someone to talk to, and you don’t mention it, you’re not sending the right signals. You’re making it look as if you’re okay, which is unfair to you as well as your girlfriend. Tell her what the problem is and ask for change. That way, if it doesn’t happen, you will be sure of why this relationship is or isn’t working.
If a girl thanks you after a date, does this mean it’s over and she isn’t interested in seeing you again?
Why assume that until she specifically says that she isn’t interested? If someone thanks you, maybe it’s genuine. If you want to see her again, you can simply ask her out and allow her to give you a clear response. Don’t read too much into things when you have the option of being direct. If something is on your mind, speak out because that’s always the best approach.
