If she is your best friend and you can’t be honest about how you feel, you must re-evaluate your friendship

I am a 30-year-old woman and am going to be married within six months. My fiancé and I are looking forward to living together, but the problem is his younger brother wants to live with us for a year until he can save enough to move to a place of his own. My fiancé has no choice because his parents live in another city, and I understand the reasons but can’t help feeling that this will take a toll on our marriage. It’s not as if I have a problem with his brother, but I think it’s reasonable to want some privacy while trying to navigate a new life with someone. His brother is lazy and doesn’t work very hard, which also worries me because it may mean living with him for a longer period. What do I do?
Think of this as the first of many challenges you and your partner will have to navigate. Your worries are valid, and you are right to expect space while beginning a new life together. If your partner has no choice though, this will have to be a matter handled by tact as well as mutual respect. Your partner owes it to you to take your concerns seriously and do what he can to mitigate them. How the two of you communicate will have a huge impact on how your marriage evolves, so be honest, explain why this bothers you, and ask him to come up with a solution that helps make things better. His brother is an adult too, so there should also be dialogue with him. If there is no choice, maybe they can come up with a shorter timeframe at best.
My best friend always speaks to my boyfriend in a way that is almost clingy, and I don’t know what to say without coming across as jealous. How do I tell her to back off?
If she is your best friend and you can’t be honest about how you feel, you must re-evaluate your friendship.
