UK PM Keir Starmer visits iconic Mumbai restaurant Khyber in Kala Ghoda

British Prime Minister Keir Starmer is in Mumbai on a two-day visit but made the time to indulge in local food with a visit to the iconic city restaurant Khyber in the Kala Ghoda neighbourhood in Fort.

The restaurant shared a glimpse about the visit on social media through an Instagram post saying, "The British Prime Minister's visit to Khyber marks a proud milestone for Mumbai's dining legacy. Founded by Mr Sudheer Bahl and now led by his son Mr Ishaan Bahl, Khyber stands as a symbol of India's rich culture and world class hospitality."

Sharing the news on his Stories on the social media app, Ishaan Bahl said, "A privilege and honour to have UK Prime Minister @keirstarmer at @khyberrestaurant.in The legacy lives on."

Coincidentally, the city restaurant celebrates 65 years of existence in 2025, a major milestone at a time when many dining establishments struggle to survive amid evolving palates and rising estate prices.

Known for its North-West Frontier cuisine, Mughlai richness, and walls adorned with original artworks by masters like M.F. Husain and Anjolie Ela Menon.
