The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) on Friday issued a yellow alert for Mumbai, Thane, Palghar and other parts of Maharashtra, predicting hot weather.
The weather department predicted that hot and humid conditions were very likely at isolated places.

The data recorded on June 12 showed that both the city and suburban observatories registered minimum temperatures above 30 degrees Celsius.
The IMD said the Colaba observatory recorded a minimum temperature of 30.2 degrees Celsius, while the Santacruz observatory registered 30.1 degrees Celsius.
The weather bulletin stated that hot and humid conditions were likely in parts of Maharashtra and there was a possibility of light rain or thundershowers towards afternoon or evening.
A yellow alert was issued for parts of Maharashtra including Raigad, Nashik, Pune, Ahilyanagar, Kolapur, Satara, Sangli, Solapur, Beed, Nanded, Latur, Dharashiv, Yavatmal, Gadchiroli and Gondia districts.
It stated, "Thunderstorm accompanied with lightning, moderate rainfall and gusty winds (40-50 kmph) at isolated places was very likely."
The residents have been advised to remain cautious, avoid open areas during thunderstorms, and take necessary precautions against lightning strikes and strong winds.
While the city continues to experience humid weather, Mumbai's air quality remained within the "Satisfactory" category on Friday.
According to data from the Central Pollution Control Board's (CPCB) SAMEER application, the city's overall Air Quality Index (AQI) stood at 65. An AQI within this range indicates that air quality is generally acceptable and poses minimal health risks for most people.
Several districts across the Vidarbha region recording maximum temperatures above 40 degrees Celsius.
Wardha emerged as the hottest district in state and recorded 44.5 degrees Celsius, followed closely by Brahmapuri at 44.2 degrees Celsius and Nagpur at 44.0 degrees Celsius.
According to a weather bulletin, heatwave-like conditions remained concentrated over Vidarbha, where most districts reported temperatures significantly above normal.
Apart from Wardha, Akola recorded 43.4 degrees Celsius, Amravati 42.8 degrees Celsius, Jalgaon 42.5 degrees Celsius, Chandrapur 42.2 degrees Celsius, Malegaon 42.2 degrees Celsius, Gondia 41.8 degrees Celsius, and Buldhana 41.6 degrees Celsius.
In the Marathwada region, temperatures remained high but relatively lower than in Vidarbha. Beed recorded 40.4 degrees Celsius, while Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar and Parbhani both registered 39.9 degrees Celsius.
Nanded recorded 39.7 degrees Celsius, and Dharashiv reported 36.7 degrees Celsius.
