The CCTV footage of the BEST bus accident near Plaza Cinema has surfaced, offering a clearer view of the moments leading up to the fatal crash. The videos show the bus appearing to lose control while taking a right turn at high speed before hitting multiple vehicles on the road.

One killed, six injured in Dadar accident

A 28-year-old biker was killed and six others injured, including one critically, after a BEST bus on Route 463/31 crashed into a car and a two-wheeler near Veer Kotwal Garden, close to Plaza Cinema in Dadar West on Monday morning.

The accident occurred around 10:45 am. All the injured were rushed to Sion Hospital, where one was declared brought dead on arrival. Police have initiated an investigation into the circumstances of the crash.

Victims shifted to Sion Hospital

As per information received from Dr Randhir, assistant medical officer (AMO), Sion Hospital, the victim has been identified as Niayz Ahemed, an electric scooter rider.

Another biker, Vrishabh Gupta (22), is admitted in a critical condition.

The other injured are in stable condition. They have been identified as Amit Mhatre (41), a pedestrian; BEST inspectors Mahesh Doiphode (50) and Satish Waghambare (48); bus conductor Rajendra Pelekar (57), and driver Vikas Padare (42).

Bus driver in custody; probe underway

The bus driver has been taken into custody after treatment, officials said. The damaged vehicles were removed from the spot, and traffic movement was later restored. Authorities are continuing to investigate the exact cause of the incident.
