Agastya Nanda, Amitabh Bachchan’s grandson, is set to play India’s youngest Param Vir Chakra recipient, Arun Khetarpal, in Sriram Raghavan’s upcoming biopic Ikkis. The makers unveiled his first look on Khetarpal’s birth anniversary, showcasing Agastya’s powerful transformation

Agastya Nanda, who made his acting debut with The Archies in 2023, is now looking forward to conquering the big screen. Grandson of the legendary actor Amitabh Bachchan, Agastya has been filming for his first big-screen outing with director Sriram Raghavan. For the film, he brings to life India's youngest recipient of the Paramvir Chakra- Arun Khetarpal.

On the occasion of Arun Khetarpal's birth anniversary, the makers of the film titled Ikkis took to social media to unveil Agastya's first look from the film. The young actor transformed himself to embrace the persona of the late soldier. Sharing the poster, the makers wrote, "Woh Ikkis ka tha, Ikkis ka hi rahega. Dinesh Vijan and Maddock Films present #Ikkis, directed by Sriram Raghavan, a true untold story of the youngest officer recipient of the Param Vir Chakra."

As per the makers, the film is based on the life of Second Lieutenant Arun Khetarpal. He was awarded the Param Vir Chakra posthumously and lived an exemplary life. The makers had earlier released a one-minute teaser showcasing a Telegram shared during the time of the India-Pakistan war: Battle of Basantar in 1971. The letter reported the unfortunate demise of Arun Khetarpal during the Indo-Pak war in 1971, as per the teaser. The film was initially supposed to be released on October 2. However, the film will now be released in December. The makers are yet to announce the date.
Ikkis cast
Apart from Agastya, the film also stars senior actor Dharmendra. The biopic also has Jaideep Ahlawat and Sikandar Kher in pivotal roles. Akshay Kumar's niece Simar Bhatia will also be seen making her acting debut with this biographical war drama.

Agastya Nanda originally made his movie debut with Zoya Akhtar's The Archies in 2023. It was released directly on Netflix. He played the lead role in the film.
The movie follows the lives of Archie, Betty, Veronica, Jughead, Reggie, Ethel, and Dilton and takes audiences to the fictional hilly town of Riverdale. The film explores friendship, freedom, love, heartbreak, and rebellion. Suhana, Khushi Kapoor, Dot, Mihir Ahuja, Vedang Raina, and Yuvraj Menda are also part of The Archies.
