Filmmaker and choreographer Farah Khan recently got candid about the challenging fallout from her 2010 film Tees Maar Khan's poor box office performance, exposing that some in the business publicly celebrated the setback. However, at the current time, the film is one of the most-watched films by the young generation and has garnered a niche following for its content.

Farah shared personal experiences in her most recent YouTube video, which was shot at the residence of actor Rakul Preet Singh and producer Jackky Bhagnani. She spoke with Dilip, her lifelong cook, and Jackky. Farah considered the unfavourable reaction from industry insiders after the release of the Akshay Kumar and Katrina Kaif film when the topic of professional setbacks came up.

Farah revealed, "In our industry, more than being happy for your success, people are happier for others' failure. I remember when Tees Maar Khan was released, there was literally a celebration in the film industry. People I had worked with were saying things like, 'Ab aayi na line pe'."

Farah revealed that Tees Maar Khan has gained fresh life with a younger audience in spite of the original flop at the box office. "Among Generation Z, Tees Maar Khan is a legend. My other flicks don't appeal to them. They believe Tees Maar Khan to be the one," Farah remarked.

Jackky Bhagnani talks about their struggle days

Additionally, Jackky also revealed about the box office failure of his 2024 movie Bade Miyan Chote Miyan and how he found strength in his father, producer Vashu Bhagnani. Before becoming well-known in Bollywood, Jackky revealed that his father used to sell sarees on the sidewalk.

All about Tees Maar Khan

Tees Maar Khan was a heist comedy that debuted in 2010 with a lot of hype, partly because of songs like Sheila Ki Jawani that were at the top of the charts. Fans and the film's star-studded cast were both disappointed with the film's poor box office performance and critical acclaim. With time, the film garnered a niche following, and after 15 years, Farah revealed that Gen Z have celebrated the film and has become most talked-about, especially on social media.
