Emraan Hashmi and Himesh Reshammiya, a lethal pair that ruled the early 2000s, are all set to collaborate once again, serving as pure nostalgia. A new film titled Gunmaaster G9 has been announced, and the film is set to reunite the two iconic stars. The film is expected to be a high-octane family action drama that marks the much-anticipated reunion of the Aashiq Banaya Aapne team, Emraan Hashmi, director Aditya Datt, along with music composer Himesh Reshammiya, after nearly two decades.
About Gunmaaster G9
Gunmaaster G9 is produced by Deepak Mukut and Hunar Mukut under the Soham Rockstar Entertainment banner. It includes an ensemble cast including Emraan Hashmi, Genelia D’Souza, Aparshakti Khurana, and Abhishek Singh. The film will feature Emraan Hashmi in a never-before-seen action avatar, promising stylised visuals and emotionally charged storytelling that appeals to a wide audience.
Director Aditya Datt, best known for Table No. 21, the Commando franchise, and the recent OTT series Bad Cop, believes the film to be a full-circle moment. “When we made Aashiq Banaya Aapne, we were young, hungry, and experimental. With GUNMAASTER G9, we’re still all of those things—but sharper and more evolved. It’s a full-circle moment for me. I’m incredibly grateful to Deepak Mukut for bringing us back together and trusting us with this film,” he said.
Meanwhile, producer Deepak Mukut added, “This film is slick, emotional, and has mass appeal. At Soham Rockstar, we back directors like Aditya Datt who have a strong vision and a fresh take on mainstream cinema. With Emraan, Genelia, and Aparshakti onboard, we have a dream cast to bring this powerful story to life.”
Principal photography of the film is scheduled to begin in Mumbai post-monsoon, while Uttarakhand schedules will follow shortly thereafter. The film is expected to be released in 2026.

As soon as the news was announced, fans expressed their excitement, saying the golden days are back. One fan commented, "Emraan Hashmi + Himesh Reshammiya long time.
