Filmmaker Ayan Mukerji has opted out of directing Dhoom 4 due to creative differences with Yash Raj Films. He will now focus on Brahmastra: Part Two – Dev, set to begin filming next year
Ayan Mukerji and Ranbir Kapoor
Filmmaker Ayan Mukerji has reportedly opted out of Yash Raj Films’ upcoming action spectacle Dhoom 4 due to creative disagreements, choosing instead to focus on the next instalment of his Brahmastra franchise. The decision is said to have followed the lukewarm reception of his recent directorial venture War 2, which drew criticism from the audience despite high expectations. Reports suggest Ayan, who was in talks to direct Dhoom 4 expected to feature Ranbir Kapoor, stepped away after realising his vision did not align with the studio’s. We have also learnt that the director “felt restricted by the pre-set script and wanted greater creative freedom.” After amicable discussions with Aditya Chopra and Ranbir, he has turned his focus back to Brahmastra: Part Two – Dev, expected to begin filming next year.
