History in the foresight
Ashutosh Gowariker and Rishab Shetty
Is Rishab Shetty becoming the go-to face for mythological and historical dramas? That’s the question fans are asking amid buzz that the Kantara star may team up with Jodhaa Akbar (2008) director Ashutosh Gowariker to play Sri Krishnadevaraya, the Vijayanagara emperor. If true, this would mark yet another period role for the actor, who is already set to play Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj in The Pride of Bharat. We have learnt that since the success of Kantara (2022), the Kannada star has stepped away from lighter films, even opting out of Malaikottai Vaaliban and the sequel of his film, Bell Bottom (2019). The film will mark the directorial comeback for Ashutosh, whose last directoril venture was Panipat (2019) with Arjun Kapoor and Kriti Sanon.

Ronit Roy

Reflecting on the ’90s, Ronit revealed he often survived on a single meal a day, alternating between kaali daal and palak paneer at a dhaba outside Bandra station. He shared on the Hindi Rsuh podcast, “One day, I had no money and asked just for roti and onions. The man gave me daal too and said, ‘Aaj aapka daal ka din hai’.” Ronit admitted he didn’t understand why his career didn’t take off initially, adding, “I stopped going to people for work, and hence, they stopped giving me opportunities. Even after my debut, I lived paycheque to paycheque.”
