John Abraham, who was papped outside a Bandra gym, was not looking his usual self. The beefcake appeared leaner, and his face looked chiselled and sharp. We did a double-take, and at first glance, he reminded us of tennis champ Novak Djokovic. It is said that Johnny boy has been whipping his body into the desired shape for Mohit Suri’s Ek Villain Returns. He plays the antagonist in the action thriller, alongside Arjun Kapoor, Disha Patani and Tara Sutaria. One of B-Town’s fittest actors appears to have challenged himself to set new goals while prepping for a character.

Talent ki dukaan

Vicky Kaushal

Over the weekend, Vicky Kaushal revealed an unknown facet about himself. Apart from acting, he loves painting. The actor shared his latest creation — a Ganesha painting. While fans oohed and aahed over his work, fashion stylist Amandeep Kaur asked if it was his handiwork. The actor replied, “Ki karaa, talent khatam hi nahin hunda (sic).” Kaushal shared his hidden skills two days after rumoured ladylove Katrina Kaif’s birthday. Was another painting made specially for her big day?

On Sunday, Bhumi Pednekar turned 32, and as her birthday wish she hoped the present generation would start restoring the planet. The actor-environmentalist said, “I truly wish that we address the dangers that we are challenged with and take steps to rectify it. We can make it happen only if we all change our perspective towards our planet. We have to realise that everything is limited and one day, if we don’t stop, we will be done and over.”

It’s finally happening

Manish Malhotra

Manish Malhotra’s dream to become a director is finally taking shape. The Bollywood designer had been harbouring a desire to  wield the directorial baton for over a decade but things never took off. Over the weekend, he confirmed the recent buzz that was doing the rounds by sharing various articles about his directorial debut on his Instagram Stories. It goes without saying that it will be backed by buddy filmmaker Karan Johar. We wonder who Malhotra will cast in the film from among the numerous actors he has designed for since the early ’90s.

Dance on

Rahul Vaidya and Disha Parmar

Rahul Vaidya and Disha Parmar’s wedding celebrations continue. On Saturday, they hosted an after-party. Choreographer Sumit Khetan was roped in for the bridal couple’s dance performances. “Rahul is expressive and Disha is an amazing dancer. They are quick learners,” says Khetan. The newly-weds grooved to several chartbusters, including Bahara and Bole chudiyan.

Living the dream

Elli AvrRam and Amitabh Bachchan

After matching steps with Aamir Khan in the Har funn maula track in Koi Jaane Na, Elli AvrRam is now sharing screen space with Amitabh Bachchan in Goodbye. She shared a click from the set of Vikas Bahl’s directorial venture and wrote, “I used to dance on Shava shava from Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham [2001] back home in Sweden, and today I am getting to act with sir. OMG! Miracles really do happen when you dream big.”

Going regional

Jacqueline Fernandez and Sudeep

Jacqueline Fernandez makes her Kannada film debut with Vikrant Rona. Anup Bhandari’s 3D fantasy action adventure thriller stars Sudeep. Fernandez features in a song choreographed by Jani Master. Sudeep shared the news on social media and wrote, “Saw the rough edit...Jani you are awesome
and the hook step looks supaaaa (sic).”

Remember those times

Tina Ahuja

Govinda’s daughter Tina Ahuja will be seen in the music video of Shibani Kashyap and Veen Ranjha’s song Lakk shake, which releases today. It also features model Anvarul Hasan Annu. “We shot in Chandigarh. It’s a birthday gift to myself,” says Ahuja, who turned a year older on Friday. “The Punjabi-Hindi number will make you revisit the pre-pandemic party times,” she adds.
