Huma opens up about why her character Geeta goes inside the vault, saying, “The character goes in to crack open the vault, to get the money, to get her and her family out of the camp. I get kidnapped by the zombies. I am there, desperate to get my family out. I want to get them out. I go in there.”

When asked about what happens with her character in the end, who suddenly disappears in the film, she says, “They come and rescue me.”

Hum Qureshi reveals the real ending of Army of the Dead

The actress reveals, “There is a crash. We shot another ending. The ending was the reason why I did the film. The ending was that I shot him in the end. Dave Bautista is now bitten by the zombies; he is going to turn into a zombie. If Dave Bautista becomes a zombie, it's all over. Ella (Purnell), who is playing his daughter, is emotionally thinking, ‘Should I kill my father or not. He can't die.’

Huma adds, “It's a crash. I shoot the zombie in the head; that's how he dies. In the end, it's just me and Ella left, two women. This is what I was told. When they showed the film to a test screen audience in America. They thought, ‘Who is this person? Who is saving the day?’ They don't know me. I am new to that part of the world. They thought a more fitting end would be if some of the more recognisable faces closed the deal. That's when they re-edited it.”

She further elaborates how she thought about the change, “My issue was that Ella is also coming over to this place. She doesn't care about the money. It's her friend. I have come in for the money. What happens to this family, you are supposed to forget this now. That's the primary reason why everyone goes inside, why Ella goes inside. But anyway, it is what it is.”
