Bollywood filmmaker Karan Johar recently showered praises on the latest film Saiyaara, its makers, as well as its debutant actors. However, that did not really go well with some sections of the internet, who began launching attacks on the filmmaker. As he praised debutant Ahaan Panday, the nephew of Chunky Panday, a troll went on to call him, 'Nepo kid ka daijaan (nanny or caretaker)'. And Karan was in no mood to let go.

Karan Johar gives a befitting reply

On Monday, July 21, three days after release, Karan congratulated the makers for Saiyaara's box office success and praised the performances of the lead pair, both of whom marked their debuts. However, an Instagram user in the comment section trolled him by writing, "Aa gaya nepo kid ka daijaan."

Karan, in return, he gave a befitting reply to the user. Karan wrote, "@sometimesasil chup kar!!! Ghar baithe baithee negativity mat paal! Do bachon ka kaam dekh !! Aur khud kuch kaam kar (Shut up!!! Don't sit at home nurturing negativity! See the work of the two kids and do some work yourself)."

Karan showers praise on Saiyaara

Karan had earlier penned a heartfelt note for the film's makers and wrote, "I don’t remember the last time I felt like this after watching a film …. Tears flowing and yet the feeling of immense joy… Joy for the fact that a love story has conquered the silver screen and made the nation fall in love …. Proudest that my Alma mater @yrf has bought love back!!! Back to the movies …. Back to our Industry…. Adi I love you and feel so proud to say that I am a YRF student for life! @awidhani what a debut as producer!!! That ball is now officially out of the park! Congratulations."

Karan added that he is blown away by director Mohit Suri's storytelling, his craft and his 'magnificent' use of music. Further talking about Ahaan and Aneet, Karan wrote, "What a debut @ahaanpandayy !!!! You broke my heart and yet energised me as a filmmaker… your eyes spoke volumes and I can’t wait to see your journey ahead…. You are spectacular!!!! Welcome to the movies !!! @aneetpadda_ you gorgeous girl… how lovely and amazing are you!!! Your silences spoke volumes, and your vulnerability and strength moved me to tears…. Both Ahaan and you were beyond magical."

Saiyaara features Ahaan as Krish Kapoor, an aspiring singer, while Aneet Padda plays Vaani Batra, a former singer who has turned lyricist and writes songs for Krish. Destiny brings them together to collaborate on a song, and eventually, love blossoms between them.
