Kareena Kapoor Khan gets cracking on the case

The film marks Kareena Kapoor’s foray into production

In August 2021, mid-day was the first to report that Kareena Kapoor Khan is foraying into production with a thriller to be helmed by Hansal Mehta (Film marks a lot of firsts, Aug 10, 2021). Over a year on, the actor has completed the first schedule that was conducted on the outskirts of London. Kareena plays a cop in the yet-untitled thriller that is inspired by a real-life story.

Last week, the actor was seen filming some intense scenes in High Wycombe, a town in the north-west of London. A source reveals, “In the sequence, Kareena’s cop character is seen investigating a crime in a residential area. It’s a raw and gritty movie, in keeping with Hansal’s brand of cinema. Kareena counts it among her most intense roles, and did several workshops before they began filming from October 6.”

The leading lady, who is backing the film with producer-friend Ekta Kapoor, sports a no-nonsense look. “Her on-screen avatar comprises solid shirts, teamed with trousers and blazers in dark hues. Mickey Contractor has given her minimal make-up, with her hair tied in a bun or ponytail.” While the actor flew back to the bay on Sunday to celebrate her wedding anniversary, she will resume work on the project by the month-end.
