Akshaye Khanna in Dhurandhar

Akshaye Khanna is currently running high on acclaim with the success of Dhurandhar, especially his dance sequence which is going viral on social media. The film has already earned Rs 125 crore in just four days.

His co-star in the movie Danish Pandor recently made some interesting revelations about the viral scene, saying, "We shot this in Leh Ladakh and Vijay Ganguly was choreographing the song. We heard the track and were stunned by how amazing it was. So, Aditya (Dhar) sir was explaining the shot to Akshaye sir. The whole choreography was happening and in the middle of that, Akshaye sir asked Aditya, 'Can I dance?' Aditya sir said, 'Do whatever you like'."

He continued, "Then in the take, we all enter, he looks at everyone dancing and starts dancing on his own. There's no choreography for him. Everyone was stunned, like 'kya kar diya yeh inhone'. People started applauding so much after the shot, the frames were looking so good. He did it all on his own. He is terrific."

Similarly, Vijay Ganguly, who choreographed the number, told mid-day, “The song is a celebration of Akshaye’s character being crowned as the Sher-E-Baloch. Originally, he was supposed to enter, walk through the dancers, and sit on the throne. Seeing the scene’s mood and the dancers’ performance, the fantastic actor that Akshaye is, he said he would dance a bit when he walks in. None of us knew what he was going to do. Akshaye entered the scene, took it from that point, and spontaneously performed.”

Akshaye would carry a small oxygen cylinder with him. When we were shooting this song, his oxygen level had dropped. So, after every shot, he would put the oxygen mask on. He did the sequence unflinchingly, and then went home," he added.
