About MS Dhoni's cricket trajectory

Dhoni was recently inducted into the International Cricket Council (ICC) Hall of Fame. During a ceremony in London in June of this year, the two-time World Cup winning skipper became the 11th Indian to be welcomed into the exclusive club.

The ICC Hall of Fame honours the exceptional achievements of cricket heroes who have helped create the sport's rich and colourful history. Players are only eligible for induction five years following their last international appearance.

Dhoni is the first captain in cricket history to win all three ICC white-ball trophies, having lifted India's first T20 World Cup in 2007 with a young, inexperienced side, led the Men in Blue to a historic 2011 ODI World Cup victory at home, and adding the Champions Trophy in 2013. His leadership quelled the pandemonium, transforming pressure into opportunity and dreams into victories.

Beyond captaincy, Dhoni altered the position of ODI finisher. His undefeated 183* against Sri Lanka in 2005 is still the greatest score by a wicketkeeper in the format. With almost 10,000 ODI runs at an amazing average of 50.57, his batting legacy is both impactful and long-lasting.
