Earlier, it was reported that Ayushmann Khurrana is all set to join forces with director Mudassar Aziz for an out-and-out comedy, replacing Kartik Aaryan. Later, reports claimed that Sara Ali Khan and Wamiqa Gabbi had been brought aboard the comedy film and that it was titled Pati Patni Aur Woh Do. If the latest reports are to be believed, the makers have brought one more actress onboard, making it a film with three leading ladies.

A Pinkvilla report claims that Mudassar Aziz and the team have decided to cast Rakul Preet Singh to play a key role in the film. Sources reportedly told them, “Unlike Pati Patni Aur Woh, which had two female leads, Pati Patni Aur Woh Do will feature three female leads. The Bhushan Kumar and Juno Chopra production will feature Ayushmann Khurrana in the lead with Sara Ali Khan, Wamiqa Gabbi and Rakul Preet Singh. All the details about the plot of this comic caper have been kept under wraps for now.”

The source further shared that the comic entertainer is scheduled to go on floors in September 2025 and will have a start-to-finish schedule. Sources claimed, “Pati Patni Aur Woh Do will go on floors in September, and the makers are looking to bring it on the big screen in the second half of 2026. The script is locked, and it is a quintessential situational comedy with a big ensemble. The casting for other key characters is presently underway."

About Pati Patni Aur Woh Do

Pati Patni Aur Woh Do is a spiritual sequel to the 2019 hit film, Pati Patni Aur Woh, starring Kartik Aaryan, Bhumi Pednekar and Ananya Panday. Interestingly, the 2019 film was a remake of the 1978 film of the same name. Sources further told the portal, “However, the plot of Pati Patni Aur Woh Do is original, and not a remake of the 2019 film. It’s a fresh story, with a new set of actors, that carries forward the franchise."

While exact plot details of the upcoming rom-com are still under wraps, the makers are believed to be focusing on a fresh narrative that will retain the essence of the original franchise, without repeating its storyline. With Ayushmann Khurrana headlining the chaos, fans can expect a funny family entertainer.
