Maalik star Rajkummar Rao has just announced that he and his actress-wife Patralekhha are expecting their first child together. The couple, who dated for more than a decade, got married in 2021.

The actor took to Instagram to share the news. He posted an adorable announcement image that read 'Baby on the way' with a cradle, followed by their names at the bottom. He captioned the post by simply writing, 'Elated'.

Filmmaker Farah Khan was among the first ones to comment on the post, hinting that she was already aware of their pregnancy and that she had a tough time not revealing the secret to anyone. She wrote, "Finally the news is out!! I was having a tough time keeping it to myself.. congratulations." (sic) Similarly, several actors from the industry, including Neha Dhupia, Sonam Kapoor, Esha Gupta, Bhumi Pednekar, Pulkit Samrat, Manushi Chillar and Dia Mirza, congratulated the couple on this special announcement.
Rajkummar and Patralekhaa's love story
Rajkummar Rao and Patralekha reportedly first met by chance on the sets of a music video in 2010. The two dated for about ten years before finally tying the knot in a beautiful ceremony on November 15, 2021. The two were seen sharing the screen in the film CityLights, which was released in 2014.

Earlier this year, Rajkummar Rao and Patralekhaa joined forces for an exciting project. The couple took to their official Instagram handle to share a note claiming that they have something special coming up; however, they clarified it is not a child. Their IG post read, "Something special is brewing. Can't wait to share it with you all. Stay tuned!" Their quirky caption read, "Stay Tuned! P.S: We are not becoming parents yet."
Patralekhaa was most recently seen in the film Phule. The film, based on the lives of Jyotirao Phule and Savitribai Phule, was directed by Anant Mahadevan and produced by Dancing Shiva Films, Kingsmen Productions, and Zee Studios. On the other hand, Rajkummar will be seen next in Maalik, wherein he plays a ruthless gangster. Maalik also stars Manushi Chhillar and Prosenjit Chatterjee, and releases in theatres on July 11.
