Amid celebrities filing police complaints after their deepfakes surfaced on social media, a woman shared her ordeal which has raised concerns about cyberbullying. The incident came to light after she shared a thread of posts on X, formerly Twitter giving a detailed account of what happened when she criticised Bollywood actor Ranbir Kapoor’s look as Lord Ram in the upcoming Nitesh Tiwari directorial ‘Ramayana’.

It all started when the woman commented on a post featuring Ranbir’s looks in ‘Ramayana’, ‘Animal’, and ‘Sanju’. She wrote, “Range so good I can't even find the difference between three characters.”

She was then subjected to a barrage of morphed photos and videos of herself in an ‘obscene’ manner. She has alleged that the ones behind these horrendous acts are fans of Ranbir.

She wrote in her post, “@mpcyberpolice, I am reaching out in dire need of assistance, i am a victim of online harassment. My personal pictures are being morphed and edited obscenely without my consent, causing distress and harm. I am attaching all the images as proofs here.”

She continued, “These people are constantly harassing me and editing pictures in obscene videos in a very shameful manner, even after calling out they did not stop and have been harassing me since yesterday till now, I can share the original videos and pictures in DMs.”

She also shared a picture of her complaint filed with the cyber police. “I kindly request your immediate intervention and assistance in investigating this matter. I have attached evidence, including screenshots and links to the edited images, for your reference. Additionally, I am willing to provide any further information or assistance necessary. Please take necessary actions Your support in this matter is greatly appreciated. Thank you,” she added in subsequent posts.

In another post, she slammed those who attacked her instead, “We live in a society where instead of calling out the people who are harassing me people are calling me out instead for uploading my pictures.”

Meanwhile, Nitesh Tiwari's 'Ramayana' has been billed as a trilogy and also features Sai Pallavi as Sita, Lara Dutta as Kaikeyi, and Arun Govil as Raja Dashrath. Others who are reported to be a part of the film as Yash as Ravana, Harman Baweja as Vibhishan, and Sunny Deol as Hanuman.
