Kareena Kapoor, Kriti Sanon and Tabu-starrer Crew was among the highest-grossing films in 2024. After the film’s release, audiences have been waiting for the actresses to reunite. Amid this, rumours were rife that Crew 2 is in the making, with Kareena reprising her role. However, Rhea Kapoor and her company have issued an official statement putting the rumours to rest.

Rhea Kapoor and her company, Anil Kapoor Film & Communication Network, released a statement on the ongoing speculation regarding the sequel of Crew. It states, “We remain grateful for the love, curiosity, and critical acclaim that Crew continues to receive around the world. On behalf of AKFCN, we warmly congratulate Kareena Kapoor Khan, Tabu, and Kriti Sanon for the recognition and nominations their performances are earning.”
It further reads, “As for what the future holds, any news about the next chapter of AKFCN, including where the world of Crew goes from here and the stories yet to come, will be shared by AKFCN in due course, when the time — and the stories — are ready.”

A few days back, Pinkvilla reported, “Crew as a franchise has strong potential to lead itself to a franchise. The team have brainstormed several ideas and finally zeroed down on one which has the potential to seamlessly lead itself into a Crew 2.”
“Kareena has already shown interest in Crew 2, and is waiting to hear the full screenplay before signing the dotted lines. Things are in the nascent stages at the moment, but the entire team is excited to take the franchise route for Crew,” the source adds.
It’s still not clear if Kriti Sanon and Tabu will also return to the Crew franchise, or if there will be a recasting with fresh actors from the top bracket. “The idea at the moment is to make Crew 2 with three A-list actresses. Kareena is certain to make a comeback to the world of Crew, and the other details are under wraps for now,” the source cited by the portal concluded.
Talking about Crew, it’s the story of three flight attendants who get entangled in a gold-smuggling scheme. Directed by Rajesh A. Krishnan, the movie also starred Diljit Dosanjh, Kapil Sharma, and Saswata Chatterjee.
