Zeenat Aman says India 'must not remain silent' as Sonam Wangchuk continues hunger strike

Actor Zeenat Aman has joined a growing list of public figures voicing concern over educator and climate activist Sonam Wangchuk's indefinite hunger strike. As Wangchuk's fast entered its 17th day at Jantar Mantar in New Delhi, the veteran actor appealed to the government to open a dialogue, saying India must not remain silent while "one of its greatest minds" continues to suffer.

Taking to Instagram, Zeenat shared a photograph of Wangchuk and reflected on his deteriorating health, citing reports that he has begun losing muscle mass and is in severe pain. She also recalled Wangchuk's response when urged to end his fast: "Don't ask me to end my fast. Ask the government why they won't even have a dialogue."
